Lora Leigh: Wild Card

20 pages into this book and I had to grab a pen and paper to write my love letter toloraleighwildcard Lora Leigh. Seriously, I have yet to come across a Lora Leigh book that I have not loved. She is amazing. She has the incredible ability to draw you in to become instantly emotionally tangled with the characters that she created.

Sabella and Nathan Malone, a SEAL, were married for just 2 short years before she was told that he died in the line of duty.

But Nathan didn’t die. He went through horrors that almost broke him, and is determined to stay away from Bella as to not endanger her. But danger already surrounds Bella and Noah has no choice but to re-enter her life.

6 years later, Bella is doing everything she can to hang onto Nathan’s garage while keeping the vultures away. In walks Noah Blake, a mysterious dominating man who seems to want everything that nation had. Especially Bella. For Bella, Noah reminds her too much of her husband. Bella is determined to discover Noah’s Secret and find out who he really is.

The book started out really strong. The middle was a tiny bit so-so for me because I thought that it got a little bit too technical, and it left a great overall impression at the end. The characters grew through out the novel – from when we met them the first time, until we met them again 6 years later. When they were married Bella and Nathan were still getting comfortable with each other. Bella pretended to be the airheaded Southern belle for Nathan because she knew that he needed to be the badass Navy SEAL. After being on her own for a few years after her husband’s death, we really begin to see that Bella is super strong and someone that I, as a reader, can really look up to. I didn’t really see the same growth in Nathan/Noah, (not a spoiler, you find out pretty early on) but he did come to realize that Bella is really strong capable of doing things on her own.

Overall, this is a very good book that you will enjoy many a time. The sex scenes  are super hot and you will not be disappointed.

Lora Leigh: Loving Lies

This is a book that I have read more than once – and every time I find something newloving lies lora leigh and interesting about it.

The first time that I read this book, I don’t think that I really understood it. While the book does not make me angry as it did the first time that I read it, it’s not all cozy and warm feelings like it usually is with other romance books. Lora really takes you on a journey, one that you might have to experience over and over again until you think you have reached where the author wanted you to go.

Jessie Benton has been in love with Slade Colter since she was 16 years old. On her 21st birthday she finally gets him – for two days. He leaves town, marries another woman, and five years later he has come back to claim Jessie’s heart again. This time Jessie is ready, she can tell that he is still keeping secrets from her and she doesn’t plan on giving in to him easily. She has plans to make him suffer as much as she has.

It really made me think about my own life and how I might react if someone I was in love with did something that to some would be completely unforgiveable. Would I be able to get over the past and see the hope of the future, or would I be so focused on the past?

Also, it brings up the idea of where the line is on denials in romance novels. A few times through out the book, Jessie expresses that she does not want to get freaky but Slade went ahead and did the deed with her. Of course by the end of the session Jessie was a willing participant, but when does it stop being seduction and it turns into coercion? Hmmmm. It gives you something to think about.

This book is very short and very hot straight from the beginning and take your emotions through a rollercoaster ride.

Lora Leigh: Atlanta Heat

Atlanta Heat

This is the 6th installation of Lora Leigh’s Tempting SEALs series.

This short and sexy read by Lora Leigh is hot, hot, hot. She is so great at creating lasting chemistry between Emerson Delaney and Mason ‘Macey’ March.

Macey is a Navy SEAL, and Emerson has spent her entire life around them. Her parents are both in the service and her godfather is Macey’s Admiral. Macey believes that the Admiral will have his blood if he messes with Emerson, but he just can’t seem to help himself.

Macey is a self-proclaimed breast man, and Emerson has the perfect pair for him. They have been dancing around each other for a couple of years and after a white slavery organization takes Emerson, they have just the opportunity to take their flirtatious relationship to the next level.

When it came to the sexy scenes Lora Leigh did not skimp in this brief novel. She goes into the perfect amount of detail, and Macey is commanding enough without being overbearing.

This book is perfect for when you just need a quick, scorching read (if you know what I mean *creepy eyebrow lift *). Go out and get this. Trust me, it’s totally worth it.
